Atlas of Social Statistics
This Social Atlas brings together key socioeconomic indicators based on the 2008 Population and Housing Census and the 2010-2011 Integrated Household Survey (IHS). The Atlas also utilized data from the various sources that are acknowledged as such.
This Atlas includes poverty estimates at Traditional Authority level. These poverty estimates were computed using what is commonly referred to as “poverty mapping” methodology which uses IHS sample data to develop a model which calculates poverty using census data at smaller geographical areas. The poverty indicators and other population indicators are presented in maps with a visual display that enables appreciation of spatial distribution of the phenomena.
