Data processing

• Data processing is in progress using scanning technology.
• Data editing is yet to be done as soon as key correction is through by end of November, 2008.

Census preparatory activities

• Field work for the 2008 population and housing census was done in June 2008 for a period of 21 days
• The pilot census in preparation of the main census was done in September 2007.
• Demarcation of census enumeration areas ( census mapping) started in 2003 and finished in 2007 using GIS technology.
